Fort Gyldenløve

Generally speaking, the name Gyldenløve in Denmark usually were given to illegitimate children of Danish kings. There were quite prominent personalities among them. So was Ulrik Frederik Gyldenløve (1638 - 1704), son of Frederick III, Chief of the Danish-Norwegian troops during the war for Scone. The fighting in Norway also called as Gyldenløves war. One of the forts bears his name. To the left of the fort, in the trees in 1718 was killed Swedish king Karl XII.
