Cathedral of St. Peter

Cathedral of St. Peter - Caesarea next photo - 164 kb

The remains of the Cathedral of St. Peter built by the crusaders on the site of the Byzantine basilica that stood on the platform of the former pagan temple of Augustus. It is reported that besides it there were 7 more churches in the city, but none of them have been found yet. However, only a small part of the archaeological park has been excavated in Caesarea, so perhaps new discoveries await us, stay tuned for site updates.
