I must note that the port existed here even before the construction of Sabastos. A small port with two harbors and a couple of anchorages near Straton's Tower, according to archaeological research, existed here as early as the 4th century BC.
The picture shows a view of the shore from the pier. The cliff is fortified with walls of the masonry of different eras. Under them, the correct masonry of the northern pier of the roman port is visible.
