...Further on, Caesarea was in the hands of Christians for a hundred and fifty years. Little is known about the fortifications of that time, but it is assumed that they were in the same place as the current ones. The Franks actively used the Caesarea port to communicate with Europe, crowds of pilgrims rushed through the city to Jerusalem, there was even their own archbishop.
There were three gates in the fortress - in the northern, southern and eastern walls.
