Fortifications of the Roman-Byzantine period have been preserved in a small area in the southern part of the city near the Theater. Approximately 150-200 m of the wall has been preserved to a height of 2-3 meters. The Byzantines built an kastron or citadel in this place or a fortress inside a fortress. The photo shows the remains of the inner wall of the citadel.
