The road to the fort

Fort Austratt is located on the Orlandet peninsula in an extremely good defensive position at the entrance to the Trondheim Fjord. In Trondheim town itself, the Germans had a large naval base and an important airfield.
The picture shows the road to the fort from the ferry pier in Brekstad. To get to the fort itself is about 4 km. In general, there are buses but they are goes very rarely, because everyone here has a car, and many have more than one.
