'Cholera Bay' of Odderoya Island

From 1804 till 1914 the northeastern part of the island was occupied by the largest quarantine station in northern Europe. It was intended for sailors from ships on which the infection was found. They lived in barracks on the shore of this bay for months until they recovered or died. On the left, you can see the beginning of a high stone wall that encloses the station territory.
