Artillery of Sandhamn

Sight to the south and Isosaari island. Remains of Crimean War times batteries are seen on the foreground. Till the mid of 19AC the island Sandhamn (Swedish name for Santahamina) was a rural place with a few fishing villages. Just before Crimean War 9 artillery batteries were erected here. Rear admiral F.Nordman was in command of the artillery of Sandhamn.
