Artillery emplacements

August 1855 allied fleet under command of rear-admiral R.Dundas and admiral Penaud appeared near to Sveaborg fortress. Morning August 7 they begun shelling of the fortress. The shelling last for an 45 hours from the battleships and gunboats. Allied fleet consisted of 9 line-of-battle ships, 13 steam frigates and sloops of war, 32 mortarboats and gunboats. 2 line-of-battle ships and frigate cannonaded Sandhamn island.
