Secret object NII №12

Central Research Laboratory of Navy was established by order of the Commander in Chief of the Navy and the directive of the General Staff of the USSR back in 1949. It was intended to research a wide range of problems of engineering support of naval bases, the development of new naval engineering machinery and engineering equipment, full-scale tests of ship and sub models and so on. In 1952, Central Research Laboratory reorganized in the Institute №12 of the Navy. This facility was built in the summer of 1954.
