Izborsk. Where is it?

 

There is need to go to the Pskov city at first. There are few buses from St.Petersburg (Leningrad) to Pskov and two electric trains. It will be good to stay overnight at the Pskov and see it's churches and fortress. Pskov is a well known tourist place of Russia and there are no problems with hotels and places for bednight (but it will be wise to make a reservation before the trip).

Old Izborsk are on the Pskov-Riga highway 30 km distance from Pskov town. You should get to the bus-station near to rail-way station and take the bus (on every hour) or micro bus (on week-ends) to Old Izborsk city.
