Novyi Gorod (New City) Courtyard

The space inside the perimeter of the mighty walls of the New City is empty and undeveloped. All stone buildings are grouped inside the walls of the Ivanovskiy and Assumption monasteries. Moreover, all kinds of tenants, such as a parochial school, men's and women's hotels, a salt store, wine warehouses, a city prison, and so on were content with the premises of the lower tier of the fortress walls and towers. It is unclear why such a large space was fenced off.
