Armour plates

Concrete was in great deficit in the besieged Leningrad, so the builders used the material they had - armor plates. The construction consists of two huge metal cases, the space between which is filled with sand and soil. The walls of the outer case are supported by powerful metal buttresses, located in steps of 50-60 cm.
