Entrance to the powder cellars

There are the powder cellars and the elevator for lifting of gun ammunition to the top floor. There is the special construction entrance also. It is named "skvoznik" and was worked out for protection of internal premises against blast wave. This wave should fly in one pass and take off through another, without essential harm to the entrance doors, military property and the staff. Experiments of improvement of a necessary design of installations was made in nearby located fort "Rif" in 1891-96.
