Mortar battery №1

The fence of barbed wire and concrete traverses separating gun emplacements are seen. There are eight gun's yards here and they were designed to install 11-inch mortars. The battery was built in 1894-1899 years to strengthen the close defence of approaches to the Kotlin island and sea channels to Petersburg. It is one of the the first Russian coastal concrete battery.
