Monument to Revolutionary Heroes

The monument was erected in 1918 next to the Korolevskaya Tower on the site of an unmarked mass grave of fortress prisoners who were executed or died here. The place was located by the rotmister of the gendarme department in Shlisselburg, Parfenov, who was the fortress's caretaker in 1902-5. The project and the monument itself were executed by Academician I. Ginzburg.
