In the dock

After the conquest of Sveaborg by the Russians, the dock remained in a semi-abandoned state for a long time - either a storm would break down the gates and the sea would flood the dock pool, or the powder magazine on Engineerniy (Susisaari) Island would inopportunely explode. During the Crimean War, the dock also suffered from bombing by the Allied fleet.
