Main feature of the boat is it's tiny size. Germans called such vessels Einbaum or 'dugout canoe'. There are no watertight compartments and the boat has a single hull. You can try to imagine the air inside of the boat after 3-4 week raid with two dozen able-bodied Finnish sailors aboard.
