Commemorative cross
In 1920-22, a camp of displaced persons for refugees from Soviet Russia was located in the barrack's town of the island. The main contingent was made up of participants of the Kronstadt uprising 1921, as well as Karelians and Izhora peoples, who fled because the oppression of the new Soviet government. Among them were the Cossacks of the Life Guards Cossack Regiment and the Imperial convoy.
