Entrance to the dungeons from the gun emplacement
In 1920-30, the headquarters of the 2nd coastal artillery regiment of Finland was located in these dungeons, and the battery itself was armed with two modernized 6-inch Canet guns. At the beginning of the Winter War, the island's garrison numbered a little less than 100 people, of which only 10 were professional, the rest were reservists of Uuras city.
