Demilune

Demilune (French demi-lune means the crescent moon) is a semi-circular outer defensive structure, which has some resemblance to the crescent and located in front of curtain wall (Italian curtine means the veil).
The Vaxholm citadel has Demilune structure with a gun positions at rear part in the island.
