It can be seen from the picture that the curtain has a very significant thickness and can resist even modern medium-caliber artillery. The trouble with all these fortifications was not so much in their insufficient power, but in theirs small sizes. Even the guns of the first half of the 18th century could shot through the entire territory of such fortress.
