Courtyard of the Citadel

The walls between the towers have three combat tiers with embrasures for firing from hand weapons. On the right is the lower part of the Tower of Phasael from the period of Herod the Great. If you look closely, it is easy to see that this masonry is very similar to the masonry of the Western Wall of the Temple Mount.
