Earthen fortress

Not far from the Castle you can find a circular earthen rampart a little less than 4 meters high with four gates and stone stairs leading to the rampart. The diameter of the structure is 65 m. It is called 'Fortification' or 'Earth Fortress'. Built in the 1790s according to the design of architect N.Lvov as an amphitheater for various equestrian entertainments, such as the 'Knight's Carousels', which the heir Pavel was very keen on.
