External dock pool

Adjacent to the main basin from the east is the so-called 'outside' pool. Until the 1930s, there was just a canal here, but then it was rebuilt, increasing its depth and size, while breaking some of the old bastions. They also made their own water pumping system for it. The outer gate visible in the photo was made in Turku and installed in 2000. The pool is used by Alfons Håkans for the repair of small sea vessels.
