
Until 1764, the building belonged to the imperial family and was intended for royal persons to stay in it when they visited Kronstadt. Further, the palace came under the jurisdiction of the Admiralty Board, and since 1771 it was occupied by the Naval Cadet Corps. From 1798 to 1872, the Navigation School was located here, and after that the Marine Engineering School of Emperor Nicholas I (former Technical School).
In Soviet times, the Department of Public Education, the Central Library, courses for the highest command staff, the House of the Red Army and Navy (House of Officers) were quartered here. During the Second World War the Headquarters of the Baltic Fleet was here. After the war the Sailors' Club and the theater of the Baltic Fleet, and since 2011 there is a branch of the Naval Museum 'Kronstadt Fortress', the expositions of which we will now briefly examine...
