Moving from hall to hall

The ceiling height here is 6-7 meters and may be more. It is not clear what for such huge spaces was need, what was here? Instead of doors in the walls, there are openings in the full height of the hall. And not one, but two. Was this for a simple ordinary gunpowder laboratory? I am at a loss for guesses...
