Backwoods, Cape Lisiy Nos (Kronstadt: North Forts )

Backwoods

Backwoods

All this uninhabited area was cordoned off by soldiers during the executions. Those executed were immediately buried here in unmarked graves, and, as far as I know, the burial places have not been found till nowadays. That is not surprising in such a wilderness. According to some rumors, mutinous sailors and soldiers killed during the Kronstadt uprising of 1921 were buried somewhere here too.
