Fort Shanz (Schanetz)
A mighty concrete fort built in 1899-1908, consisting of three concrete batteries — a central mortar battery and two flanking cannon batteries, connected by a single earthen rampart. Protects the approaches to the city and port of Kronstadt from the west.
